VOICE-INSIGHT - In 1999 the
founders of this Belgian company invented a new mobile user interface
technology called VQL™ (Voice Query Language).
What VQL™ really does is interfacing
existing speech engines available from the shelf to existing database content
for queries and updates in natural language. It is not a speech engine
(recognition nor synthesis), nor is it a database application on its own. It is
a middleware enabling automatic voice activation of any existing database
application. As such it allows fast deployment of voice-activated applications
in any language, supporting any device (telephone, GSM, microphones, PDA
(personal data assistants), television, remote controller, etc.), in a
server-client or in an embedded architecture. This approach has been
internationally patented.
The company has developed solutions based on
the SDK in different vertical niches: GIS, GPS, Logistics, Maintenance,
Security, e-Government.
