It was set up through the Co-operation Agreement concluded between the Belgian federal government and the three Belgian regional governments on May 24th, 2002. The Agency is run by a Board of Directors and its Honorary President is His Royal Highness Prince Philippe of Belgium. The Agency's main tasks are defined as follows in the Co-operation Agreement : * Organisation of joint economic missions; * Collecting, organising and circulating information, studies and documentation on external markets on behalf of the regional export promotion organisations.
